Frequently Asked Questions
Will you take my medical aid?
We are registered with most medical aids in South Africa, and will process your medical claim on your behalf. If you are on a network plan, please check with your medical aid if we are listed on your network to ensure there is no co-payment.
Do you accept cash?
We accept credit cards, debit cards and “tap to pay” NFC devices for cash payments. Unfortunately, we do not keep or accept physical cash on site.
What do I need to bring with me to a Doctor’s Appointment?
Please bring your medical aid card and/or payment method. If you you are a new patient, please try to bring a pre-filled appointment form – we will share this when you book your appointment.
Will you provide medicines as well?
Medicines used immediately (e.g. contraceptive injection) will be provided. For treatment you need to continue at home, the doctor will write a prescription for you to collect at your nearest pharmacy.
We are hoping to provide a full dispensing service soon – watch this space!
Do you do eye tests?
Unfortunately we do not conduct eye tests.
Do you write medical certificates?
Yes, we are able to assist you with VISA medical certificates, those for PDP/ PrDP, as well as general medical certificates based on specific requests. Please contact us for more information.
What is an electronic medical record?
An electronic medical record is a medical file which is captured on a computer or tablet and stored electronically. This means your file can’t be lost or easily destroyed, and your information is easy to find when you come back in future. Your information will be kept confidentially and only used for your medical management.
Why are you asking my permission for the electronic medical record?
Personal information is protected by the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in South Africa. This act governs the way your information is used, processed and managed. We have taken strict measures to ensure your information is protected and we adhere to POPIA requirements – this includes getting your permission to capture and store your information in a secure and confidential way.
